The title of this course is “Counseling the Culturally Diverse: THEORY AND PRACTICE” 8th edition by Derald Wing Sue, David Sue, Helen A. Neville and Laura Smith. My essay is entitled “How has Dr.Martin Luther King Jr influenced social justice as it is expressed today? The definition of social justice from the perspective of this book and this course is SOCIAL JUSTICE COUNSELING = includes social and political action that seeks to ensure that all people have equal access to the resources, employment, services, and opportunities they require to meet their basic human needs and to develop fully.
This a Pastoral Counseling Course and the main thesis of this book is that Counseling and Psychotherapy do not take place in a vacuum, isolated from the larger sociopolitical influences of our societal climate. Multicultural Counseling often mirrors the nature of race relations in the wider society, as well as the dominant-subordinate relationships of other marginalized groups (lesbian, hay, bisexuality, transgender, and queen [LGBTQ] people, women, and the physical challenged). With all that said, going back to my essay question ” How has Dr Martin Luther King Jr influenced social justice “as it is expressed today”. If you can somehow get a hold of this course book ” Counseling the Culturally Diverse: THEORY AND PRACTICE” 8th edition by Derald Wing Sue, David Sue, Helen A. Neville and Laura Smith. Chapter 4 of this book would be beneficial for helping write the essay. The concepts of chapter 4 is an important link to the essay. This essay must demonstrate A CONTEMPLATIVE REFLECTION OF THE COURSE CONCEPTS. This is why I gave you the main Thesis previously.
