Start with a BRIEF intro that reminds the listener of your topic and your method: Describe what text you analyzed and specifically how.
Findings: Describe your interpretation of the text.
- Outline the ways you think an audience may interpret the text and how it might shape shared meanings (sensemaking) and ultimately behaviors.
- Specifically describe the ways organizational communication theory can enhance understanding of your findings and your topic (i.e., your chosen organizational dynamic, issue or problem). That is, when you analyze your text through the lens of your chosen theory, what can we learn about the ways the text might be interpreted by an audience (such as employees, a consumer, etc.)?
Conclusion: Explore the implications of your findings for individuals, organizations and society. How are your findings important? Answer the question, “So what?”
